A system built around universities and their colleges
Most degree programmes in Nepal are awarded by a university but delivered either at one of its own constituent campuses or at an affiliated college. When you compare options, you are usually comparing colleges that lead to the same university award.
For that reason our directory keeps universities, colleges and courses as separate but linked records. A course page always tells you which institution teaches it and which university awards it, where that information has been confirmed.
Language of instruction
A significant share of higher education in Nepal is delivered in English, particularly at postgraduate level and in technical and professional fields. This lowers the language barrier for applicants from many countries.
Language requirements are set programme by programme. Where an institution has confirmed its requirement to us, it appears on the course page; where it has not, we say so rather than guess.
Cost
Tuition and living costs in Nepal are generally lower than in Western study destinations. We deliberately do not publish indicative figures, because fees vary widely by institution, programme and student category, and an out-of-date number is worse than none.

Who it suits
Nepal tends to suit students who want a regionally connected qualification at a manageable cost, who are comfortable in a busy South Asian city, and who value proximity to family or to work in the region. It suits people less well if they need a specific professional accreditation recognised in a particular country — always check recognition with the regulator that matters to you before applying.
