Before you travel
Arrange health insurance that is valid in Nepal and covers both routine treatment and emergency evacuation. Consult a travel health clinic in your own country about recommended vaccinations and any medication you take regularly, and carry a signed prescription for anything you bring with you.
After you arrive
Register with your institution's health service if one exists, and identify the nearest hospital with an emergency department. Keep your insurance documents and an emergency contact accessible on your phone and on paper.
Mental health and wellbeing
Adjusting to a new country is demanding. Institutions increasingly offer counselling through student services; ask during orientation what is available and how to access it confidentially.
